Look for the * for today’s advice.

Bill Belichick 1952

“If there is something that’s your passion when you’re young, do it,” Belichick said. “Let everything else take care of itself. Don’t pick a career for money or some other reason. Do what you love, because it will never feel like work.”

*This could be under the MONEY section but when you’ve got the best MIND in NFL history, your advice should be followed. Even if you’re not young, start today by doing what you love.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 1947

I was born Lew Alcindor. Now I’m Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

The transition from Lew to Kareem was not merely a change in celebrity brand name — like Sean Combs to Puff Daddy to Diddy to P. Diddy — but a transformation of heart, mind and soul. I used to be Lew Alcindor, the pale reflection of what white America expected of me. Now I’m Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the manifestation of my African history, culture and beliefs.

Ask him how he managed to stay on the court and avoid serious injury throughout his career and he will tell you it was down to a dedicated fitness regimen that included eating a balanced diet and, famously, practicing yoga

*This can help your SOUL too. Eat a balanced diet and practice yoga today. Also, get to a basketball court and work on your skyhook shots.

Pope Benedict XVI 1927

Ever since Pope Benedict XVI became the first pontiff in six centuries to abdicate the papacy, transitioning to a life of near seclusion in a Vatican City monastery, there have been questions about how the notion of two living popes would impact the Roman Catholic Church.

Prayer is The Breath of The Soul and of Life

*Pray when you wake up and pray again when you go to bed tonight. It is the breath of your SOUL.

Charlie Chaplin 1889

Charles Chaplin was one of the rare comedians who not only financed and produced all his films (with the exception of “A Countess from Hong Kong”), but was the author, actor, director and soundtrack composer of them as well.

He died on Christmas day 1977, survived by eight children from his last marriage with Oona O’Neill, and one son from his short marriage to Lita Grey.

As his Essanay contract came to an end, and fully aware of his popularity, Chaplin requested a $150,000 signing bonus from his next studio.

*You are working for your next job today. Once you do have your dream job/business, don’t be afraid to do it all to make it your way. Delegation is needed, but remember it is your dream.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year to look back on whatever happened to the kid who played Ralphie Parker in the original version of “A Christmas Story.”

Believe it or not, Peter Billingsley has been behind the camera on some pretty big hits — including Marvel’s “Ironman,” which he produced alongside Jon Favreau.

The 46-year-old has produced “Four Christmases,” “The Break-Up” and directed “Couples Retreat,” all starring Vince Vaughn. He’s also behind TV shows including “Sullivan & Son” and Netflix’s “F Is for Family.”

Start your meal with this cocktail, made with triple sec, cranberry juice and moscato. It may not shoot your eye out, but you’ll probably start seeing double after your second glass.

  1. Homemade Ovaltine

Not into the hard stuff? Lucky for you, Little Orphan Annie wants you to be sure to drink your Ovaltine this holiday season. Even better? Make it from scratch using this recipe — you’ll totally feel like you’ve cracked the code to taste bud happiness.

  1. Mashed potatoes even Randy would eat

Who’s Mommy’s little piggy? We all are if you know how to make your mashed potatoes right.

  1. Perfect turkey

Next up, it’s everything the holiday meal aspires to be — the perfect burnished bronze turkey complete with all the fixin’s. Just make sure you lock your doors and close your windows in case the neighbor’s dogs catch a whiff of your culinary Christmas masterpiece.

*Listen to Selena while making A Christmas Story meal. Enjoy it while watching Ralphie in the movie or any of the movies that Peter Billingsley has produced. Think of planning a trip to the actual house in Cleveland, OH. – you can actually spend the night in Ralphie’s or the Bumpus house.
